Design and user advantages of PYROGAS boilers

PYROGAS boilers are hot-water gasification boilers for pyrolytic combustion of lump wood and wood briquettes with high efficiency, meeting the Ecodesign conditions, class 5 according to EN 303.5, Austrian national deviations according to Article 15a, German national deviation BlmSchV, Stufe 2 valid from 1.1.2017, Slovenian deviation Ekosklad, standards for Switzerland, Denmark and non-refundable financial contributions within the framework of state support can be used for their purchase, such as New Green for Savings, Boiler Subsidy, Green for Households, etc. The boilers are certified in notified and accredited testing laboratories within the scope of the EU and registered in the German DiBt.

The intelligent electronic controller AK5000, using the LSU 4.9 lambda probe, Belimo servo drives and EBM-Papst exhaust fan, always controls the combustion process in optimal operating conditions regardless of weather conditions. The supply of primary and secondary air to the combustion chamber is controlled automatically and, thanks to the built-in PID function, which reduces emissions and increases the efficiency of energy use in the fuel, it maintains the set temperature of the boiler outlet water by continuously controlling the fan speed.

Main functions of the AK5000 electronic boiler control: identification of fuel burnout, possibility of software upgrade, control of multiple branches, equithermal regulation UK, switching on an external boiler after fuel burnout, monitoring boiler operation via PC/notebook, connecting the boiler to the home network, remote control of the boiler via Ethernet/webserver, possibility of additional expansion with additional thermometer inputs and relay outputs, and more.

The LACFIRE 1800/20 SiC refractory combustion chamber with silicon carbide admixture, thanks to its robustness and segmented design, ensures high thermal stability and inertia, long service life as well as easy replacement of the most thermally exposed parts independently of the others, which contributes to long-term maintenance cost savings. The resulting wood gas is perfectly burned in the refractory concrete chamber at a temperature of up to 1200°C with a direct efficiency of over 91%.

The massive cast iron grate surface is equipped with LACFIRE ceramic storage inserts ensuring constant burning of the coals until they are completely burned out and the burnt fine ash subsequently falls into a separate ash pan. This design solution allows ash to be removed from the boiler during full operation.

All sides of the heat-exchange water surface in the area of the glowing coals on the grate surface are protected by refractory concrete blocks, just like the combustion chamber. This solution contributes to a more perfect release of combustible gases from the wood and also protects the boiler from direct contact of coals with the hot water surface, which has a positive effect on the boiler's service life.

Separate rear combustion from the ash pan surface and turbulators (flue gas brakes - option) significantly reduce the risk of ash swirling and its share in the flue gas, while the ash falls into a separate ash pan section.

The boiler is equipped with an integrated primary air flow regulator, which ensures uniform burning of embers without the formation of unburned and charred fuel residues.
